Placement Testing Appointment- ACCUPLACER (1h)
The ACCUPLACER, developed by the College Board, is PCC's main assessment tool. ACCUPLACER is a computerized placement test and is not timed. This Placement test consists of three parts: reading comprehension, sentence skills, and mathematics (arithmetic and elementary algebra). PCC utilizes a a "whole approach" to teaching English, the multi-measure feature is utilized to combine reading and writing scores determine course placement.

Students will also be required to take a Computer Skills Placement Test This test is used to determine the beginning computer class in which the student will be the most successful.

Students are required to complete a PCC admissions application before taking the placement test (Exceptions: NA I, NA II, Phlebotomy, EMS, EMT, VISIONS, HORIZONS, Career & College Promise - must bring Testing Permit, and RIBN students)

All students are required to show a valid photo ID on the day of testing - No exceptions. Students may not supplement a social security card, birth certificate, etc. in lieu of a photo ID.

Students requesting specific testing accomodations must have their requests approved by the PCC Disability Services Director before accomodations can be given. Contact Disability Services at 252-493-7557.

Students may take the placement test twice within a three year period. Test scores are valid for three years.

Students are encouraged to review reading, writing, and math skills before taking any of the tests. Follow the steps below to access the PCC Public ELearning Services for the most up-to-date testing resources and announcements:

1. Go to: http://public.pittcc.edu/ (you do not need to type in www.)
2. Create a new account under log-in. This service is free.
3. Log into your new account.
4. Scroll down and select "Placement Test" under the 'Miscellaneous' category of 'My Courses'.

PCC Testing - Proctor Request (1h)
The PCC Placement Testing Center offers proctoring services for non-PCC courses by appointment only. All apointments will be made considering PCC related obligations of the Placement Testing Center. The Placement Testing Center reserves the right to limit or deny proctoring services based on the availablity of resources, or if otherwise necessary. Students must make all appointment requests at least two days prior to their desired testing date.

*Proctoring for non-PCC Courses is not available from April 16th - Aug. 31st. The Placement Testing Center will be resume taking proctor requests September 1st.

PCC does charge proctoring fees for our services. Please review the
PCC Proctor Policy Form to view proctoring fees. Students are required to read, sign and return the PCC Proctor Policy form before or on the date of their appointment before testing can be administered. Students must fill out a seperate form for each course they have proctored at PCC.
